God is my Father

Being part of the Family of God

Joining the Family of God is a great and wonderful experience when God becomes your Father and you his child for all eternity. As you get to know him, love and cherish him, and follow his ways, your life will change and be filled with love, peace and joy. You will have life, and life to the fullest.

To enter God's family where you can call him Father, it says in the Bible in John 14:6 that the only way to come to the Father is through his Son, Jesus Christ. But first,

Sin is the Problem:

Sin separates and divides man from God. And because we have all sinned, whether these sins are large or small, we cannot come to him in fellowship. Our path to eternal life and heaven is therefore blocked. God, however, is full of love and forgiveness and he wanted this path to be open to allow people access to his love, now and in eternity. He therefore needed a plan to open the way.

God's solution:

God's plan was to place the penalty for sin upon the only person in the universe who could take our place, his son, Jesus Christ. Though Jesus did not deserve it, he suffered and died on the cross in our place, providing a bridge between God and man and opening up the only way for mankind to come to God, have eternal life and peace and go to heaven. Christ's death and resurrection from the grave enables us to be forgiven for our sins and empowers us to be free from the control of sin.

According to the Holy Bible, in order to receive eternal life and go to heaven we must individually receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. When we turn from our sins (repentance) and ask Jesus to come into our life by faith we cross the bridge into God's family and obtain a wonderful plan for our lives and receive the free gift of eternal life and peace.

How is this commitment made?

The way that people receive Jesus Christ into their lives is by sincerely praying a prayer such as the following (pray out loud):
"Lord Jesus, come into my life. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Right now I turn from my sins and I receive you as my Saviour and Lord and accept your free gift of eternal life. Thank you for your wonderful plan for my life and for peace and hope in the future. Thank you, Jesus. In your name I pray. Amen."

Now that you have made this decision, to continue we suggest:

  1. Talk to God in prayer everyday.
  2. Read the Holy Bible daily. ( If you don't have a Bible, contact us and we will help you.)
  3. Tell others about Jesus Christ and your experience.
  4. Find a good church to worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians.
